Tiroler Zugspitz Arena
Looking for exciting or leisurely hikes in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena? We’ve got some great tips for you.
Hiking in autumn: There is truly no better way to enjoy the most colourful season of the year! And the area around Berwang offers hiking experiences for both the young and young-at-heart – from leisurely strolls to thrilling themed trails and challenging mountain victories, there’s truly something for everyone.
We, your host family at Hotel Singer, are happy to share two must-try hiking routes with you.
Circular trail around Lake Heiterwang
Lake Heiterwang is a picturesque Alpine lake tucked between forested mountain slopes. You can easily reach it by car or public transport. Start your hike from the nearby Seestraße parking lot. Follow the lakeside path and take in the peaceful atmosphere and stunning mountain views. In autumn, the area bursts with colour. And if you’re lucky, you might even spot some local wildlife, such as deer, squirrels, or foxes. The circular trail takes about two hours to complete and brings you back to your starting point. The easy path makes it perfect for families with young children and pushchairs.
A very special scavenger hunt
This summer, the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena is offering a new highlight: Escape Trails – a mix of hiking and escape room adventure. This new outdoor experience comes with thrilling stories (told in German) and is set in the picturesque natural landscapes around Berwang. For adults, we recommend the “Das Berwang-Geheimnis” trail. You and your teammates will become a 2009 mountain rescue special unit, working together to complete a challenging mission that quickly turns into a race against time. Sounds exciting, right?
At the start, you’ll receive a handout with tips and solutions to help you along the Escape Trails. To book your escape trail or learn more about the adventure, check with the Berwang Tourism Office or ask at Singer’s hotel reception.
