Let’s hike up the Hönig!

Hönig is not only the name of one of our room categories, but also a 2,034m high mountain. How about a hike to its summit?

The warm sunrays, the wonderful temperatures, and the lush natural landscapes leave no doubt: summer is almost here. Now it’s time to leave your own four walls and inaugurate the hiking season. Our tip?  Climb up the Hönig, whose 2,034m high summit is known for its breathtaking view over flowering Alpine meadows. The Hönig is so impressive that we even named a room category after it at our wedding hotel in Tyrol. If you’d like to tackle the approximately three-hour hike, start in Brand and follow the narrow hiking trail that leads across wide meadows and past rustic Alpine huts. If you need a break, sit down at the Rastkopf hut and fortify yourself with your own provisions for the last part of the ascent. Continue to the Sattelkopf, a fantastic vantage point, and then along the ridge to the summit of the Hönig. If you are looking for an alternative route for the descent, choose the Sattelkopf circular route.
