A hotel with a great past ...
Almost one hundred years have passed since we opened one of the best hotels in the Austrian mountains: Hotel Singer. Here’s a super short summary for those with little time!
The beginnings
It all started back in 1928, when Florian Singer’s grandparents opened a small Alpine accommodation with 30 rooms. Then came the nazis, people weren’t able to go on holiday, and the hotel became a temporary home for the air force.
The upswing
After the end of the war, money from the Marshall Plan was invested in the expansion and reconstruction of the hotel. Hans Singer also seized the opportunity to join as an equal partner in building the Sonnen lift, Hönig lift, and Hochalm lift.
The handover
At the end of the 1950s, Günter took over his parents’ hotel and made some of his dreams come true: a passenger lift, an à la carte restaurant, a dance hall ... Soon, Hotel Singer even joined the renowned Relais & Châteaux hotel association.
The present day
After the premature death of Günter Singer, his son Florian took over the family hotel, where personalities such as Dr Oetker had found their holiday home in the past. Step by step, Florian transformed the former sports hotel into today’s 5-star luxury hotel with 1,800m2 spa oasis.
